Tobias has garnered support from numerous publications including DJ Mag, 1001 Tracklists, Mixmag Germany and Netherlands, YourEDM, House Music With Love, and many others, as well as landing spins on radio stations such as CBC Music’s Afterdark, KCRW’s Metropolis, and RTÉ 2FM. Tobias is clearly on a meteoric rise as he steadily carves a name for himself in the industry, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Bergson’s passion for music began at 17, not through traditional instruments but by immersing himself in programming and music production on his computer. The Austrian producer creates emotive, melancholic tracks that skillfully blend dancefloor euphoria with intimate emotiveness. At the heart of Bergson’s work is a desire to convey his emotions and experiences, resulting in intricate, haunting melodies that offer a melancholic yet familiar atmosphere. Inspired by Deadmau5, Ben Böhmer, Rampa and Chris Malinchak, his mesmerising tracks are reminiscent of a vast array of influences, with elements of deep house, techno, progressive, lounge, and house. The Everything I Do EP’s titular focus track is bound to ensnare fans of Julia Church, Tinlicker, and Nils Hoffmann.
Everything I Do is a breathtaking five-track journey underscored by Tobias’ unmistakable sonic imprint. From the the percussive vitality of the opening track ‘Clear Your Mind’, to the meditative elegance of ‘Amarant’, to the breakbeat-laden Garage and Drum & Bass explorations in ‘One Day’, each track reveals a different shade of Tobias‘ sound while cohesively preserving the airy, emotive textures that define his work.
The titular single is the shining star in this beautiful body of work. Celestial, twinkling synths and dreamy atmospherics float over a soft house beat. The arrangement is intricate, yet spacious enough to let Theia’s vocals, controlled yet brimming with passion, take centre stage. Theia possesses a rich breathiness in her timbre and impressive range reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, buoyed in the delicately ethereal splendor of Tobias’ masterful production.
Speaking on EP’s focus track, Tobias divulged “‘Everything I Do’ was a very spontaneous song. At the time, I was really into French 79 and Kid Francescoli, and I really wanted to create that kind of vibe—French house, but not just a copy of something else. The chords are very dreamy, and the overall sound of the song isn’t what you’d call mainstream, but that’s exactly what I liked about it. Tobias adds about the track lyrics: “I brought in the idea of doing something for someone, standing up for someone. That concept immediately clicked with the singer I had already produced two songs with, and she was able to bring it to life perfectly. Theia is extremely talented and has that special something in her voice that gives the song an incredibly good vibe. I’m really glad I made this track with her.”
