With their new album “Angels Calling” (out 31.10.2025 via Better Noise Music), SOLENCE returns with a powerful blend of rock, metal, and pop. Frontman Markus Videsäter, guitarist David Strääf, keyboardist Johan Swärd, and drummer David “Viking” Vikingsson combine captivating melodies, high-energy hooks, and deeply personal lyrics that explore the highs and lows of life.
Starting in November 2025, the band will embark on a European tour supporting Nothing More, performing live in cities like Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, and Paris. With songs like “Monsters in My Head”, “All of the Pain Must Go”, and the title track “Angels Calling”, SOLENCE proves they don’t just play the stage—they make every show an unforgettable experience.
In our interview, only Markus Videsäter responds to questions about the new album, the band’s vision, the tour plans, and the philosophy behind their life-affirming music.
Markus, “Angels Calling” is set to release on October 31 – what themes and emotions are at the core of this album?
Angels Calling is to me the ultimate Solence Experience!
This album is a combination of all the best parts of our last album. We really wanted to make something that felt as energetic, motivational and extreme as possible.
Your sound blends rock, metal, and pop elements. How do you find the balance between energy, melody, and songwriting?
We don’t really think about it! Since we self-produce and write everything on our own we just make the music we wanna make and get inspired by what we like at the moment. Everything you hear comes pretty natural to us!
On the album, there are tracks like “Monsters in My Head” and “All of the Pain Must Go”. How do such intense songs come to life in the studio?
Monsters In My Head we wrote together with Jimmy Duval in a session back in 2024 and then we produced it up and got all the arrangements made on our own in our separate studios, All the pain must go we wrote ourselves! Basically everything starts with an idea and then we just push it as much as we can in the studio.
Your songwriting team also collaborates with pop artists. What influences from those experiences make their way into Solence songs?
In a lot of ways. Honestly, the genre thing is not something we think about. If we add distorted guitars or not is basically just what makes it different to an other artist or Solence. It’s the same melodies, same ideas but for Solence we just make it a little bit more “us” since there’s no other people in the pot! 🙂
Your live shows are highly participatory and energetic. How do you prepare for a tour where you want to engage the audience so strongly?
We just rehearse rehearse and produce as much as we can until we’re happy with it haha. We just sit in our rehearsal room and try to push out the best stuff we possibly can… Try to make it as cohesive as possible and make it as interactive as possible for the crowd. We love to get engaged with the audience so that’s a big element for us.
Markus, you once mentioned feeling that your life is limited. How does this perspective reflect in your music?
In the way that I want my time to matter. If life is limited (which it is for everyone) I think it’s important to live without regrets and to do what you want without limitation. This message is something that I feel compliments the music well and something that feels important to me to sing about.
You’ll be going on a European tour in November as support for Nothing More. What can fans expect from you on stage?
The Solence Experience! High energy, crowd interaction, and a really good time! 🙂
How important are visual elements, looks, and videos for SOLENCE in conveying your songs?
Honestly we’re so deep into the music that sometimes the visuals take the backseat. But that’s why we have great collaborators like Mike Cortada and our creative direction team to help us out.
What message do you want to give to both new and longtime fans with “Angels Calling”?
We just wanna make the best music possible and hopefully the fans will like it. With Angels Calling I hope that people get excited to see us live, which is the most important thing for us right now!
Where do you see SOLENCE in the next five years, both musically and live on stage?
Musically- hopefully with integrity and that we didn’t loose ourselves in all the coming success 😉

Angels Calling ist für mich das ultimative Solence-Erlebnis!
Dieses Album vereint all die besten Elemente unseres letzten Albums. Wir wollten etwas schaffen, das so energiegeladen, motivierend und intensiv wie möglich ist.
Euer Sound verbindet Rock-, Metal- und Popelemente. Wie findet ihr das Gleichgewicht zwischen Energie, Melodie und Songwriting?
Wir denken da gar nicht groß drüber nach! Da wir alles selbst schreiben und produzieren, machen wir einfach die Musik, die wir gerade fühlen – inspiriert von dem, was uns im Moment begeistert. Alles, was man hört, entsteht ganz natürlich.

Monsters In My Head haben wir 2024 zusammen mit Jimmy Duval geschrieben, danach alles selbst produziert und arrangiert. All the Pain Must Go stammt komplett von uns! Meistens beginnt alles mit einer Idee – und dann pushen wir sie im Studio so weit, wie es nur geht.
Euer Songwriting-Team arbeitet auch mit Popkünstlern. Wie fließen diese Erfahrungen in Solence-Songs ein?
In vielerlei Hinsicht. Ehrlich gesagt denken wir nicht in Genres. Ob wir verzerrte Gitarren hinzufügen oder nicht, ist der einzige Unterschied zu anderen Künstlern. Es sind dieselben Melodien und Ideen – aber bei Solence machen wir es einfach ein bisschen mehr zu unserem Ding, weil niemand sonst mitmischt! 🙂
Eure Live-Shows sind bekannt für ihre Energie und Publikumsnähe. Wie bereitet ihr euch auf eine Tour vor, bei der ihr das Publikum so stark einbeziehen wollt?
Wir proben, proben und produzieren, bis wir zufrieden sind, haha. Wir sitzen im Proberaum und versuchen, das Beste herauszuholen – alles soll stimmig und so interaktiv wie möglich werden. Wir lieben es, mit dem Publikum in Kontakt zu treten – das ist für uns ein zentraler Teil der Show.
Markus, du hast einmal gesagt, dass du das Gefühl hast, dein Leben sei begrenzt. Wie spiegelt sich diese Sichtweise in eurer Musik wider?
Ich will, dass meine Zeit Bedeutung hat. Wenn das Leben begrenzt ist – und das ist es für alle – ist es wichtig, ohne Reue zu leben und das zu tun, was man wirklich will. Diese Botschaft passt perfekt zu unserer Musik und ist mir sehr wichtig, darüber zu singen.
Ihr geht im November auf Europatour als Support von Nothing More. Was dürfen Fans auf der Bühne erwarten?
Das Solence-Erlebnis! Hohe Energie, Publikumsinteraktion und einfach eine richtig gute Zeit! 🙂
Wie wichtig sind visuelle Elemente, Looks und Videos für SOLENCE, um eure Songs zu transportieren?
Ehrlich gesagt sind wir so tief in der Musik, dass die visuellen Dinge manchmal etwas in den Hintergrund rücken. Deshalb arbeiten wir mit großartigen Partnern wie Mike Cortada und unserem Kreativteam zusammen, die uns dabei unterstützen.
Welche Botschaft wollt ihr neuen und langjährigen Fans mit „Angels Calling“ mitgeben?
Wir wollen einfach die bestmögliche Musik machen – und hoffen, dass sie den Fans gefällt. Mit Angels Calling möchten wir die Menschen motivieren, uns live zu sehen – das ist im Moment das Wichtigste für uns!
Wo seht ihr SOLENCE in den nächsten fünf Jahren – musikalisch und live auf der Bühne?
Musikalisch: Hoffentlich mit Integrität – und dass wir uns bei all dem Erfolg nicht selbst verlieren 😉
