Some albums go unnoticed, and then there are those that leave a deep mark, like an engraving on vinyl. EvAAvE, the new album by Di’Aul, belongs to the latter category. A sonic ritual, a journey through the dust and bones of doom, infused with sludge, catharsis, and a visceral urgency that explodes with the power of an electric storm.

There is a sense of vertigo throughout EvAAvE, like an uncertain step on the border between ruin and rebirth, between the weight of the past and the fury of the present.

Di’Aul sculpt sound with hands dirty with earth and ashes, making doom a living language, writhing between poetry and damnation.

EvAAvE stands out for its rich and layered lyricism, rooted in symbolism, existentialism, and the darkness of the human condition. The lyrics shift between dreamlike imagery and visceral reflections, alternating introspection and social critique.
Nature plays a fundamental role, with evocative descriptions and symbols (as in Geosmina and Petricore) that allude to a deep and spiritual connection with the natural world.

The influences of poets like Sylvia Plath and Amelia Rosselli can be felt in the intimate and painful imagery, often associated with contrasting emotions such as loneliness and hope (DuendeMad Dalena).
Biblical and mythological references (Succubi et IncubiEvAAvE) add complexity, exploring themes of guilt, redemption, and duality.

The lyrics use a language that shifts between rawness and lyricism. Short, fragmented sentences intertwine with sensory-rich images („Breathing with the other’s lungs“, „Sweat and blood in the air, no despair to bear“), creating a visceral and immersive atmosphere.

Many lyrics play on opposites (life/death, light/darkness, guilt/innocence), reflecting both internal and universal conflict. This is particularly evident in tracks like Tar Wings and EvAAvE.

Recorded live at Vacuum Studio in Bologna under the guidance of Enrico Baraldi, and later mastered by Esben Willems (Monolord, SLOWER) at Berserk Studio in Gothenburg, EvAAvE is a living, pulsating body, made of organic sounds and raw energy, without compromise. Every riff is a boulder, every word a scar on the skin, every track a chapter of a dark liturgy that feeds on sacredness and primal instinct.
