New album „There Goes The Neighbourhood“ out March 15th on Spinefarm Records

Ahead of releasing their highly anticipated new album “There Goes the Neighbourhood“ (out on Spinefarm Records on March 15th) beat-punk sensations Kid Kapichi have released yet another anthem with their new single, “Zombie Nation”.  Starting in the studio as an ode to The Specials legend,  Terry Hall on his sad passing, “Zombie Nation” grew into a 2-Tone-style anthem for a disenfranchised generation. There was only one person they could hope to have as a guest appearance and that was Suggs.

“We always felt that those 2-tone albums were as relevant today as they were when they were written so we just ran with that vibe talking about post-Brexit Britain.” says vocalist/guitarist Jack Wilson. ”Once we managed to get Suggs to join,  it just got sent into another dimension. What an honour it is to work with an icon like him!”

Upon hearing the track, Suggs was thrilled to get involved. “I ‚ad a right old bubble with the Kid Kapichi boys recording this ditty and video. All dressed as zombies and messing around. Total madness. Give it a listen!“

The video was shot in the band’s hometown of Hastings and features a Shaun Of The Dead-style zombie apocalypse in which Suggs (as well as everyone else) succumbs to a Zombie Invasion. “One of the most mental videos we’ve ever filmed”, said Jack.  “Hastings fully became a post-apocalyptic hellscape for the day. More than usual anyway. The team who worked on it went above and beyond and have created something we’ll be proud of even once we’re 6 feet deep, until we come back again.”

Kid Kapichi’s new album, There Goes The Neighbourhood”, is set for release on March 15th 2024 on Spinefarm Records.  It’s their third album in as many years, a statement of intent from one of the UK’s hardest working bands – a band who preach a message of urgency. It’s a record that does what Kid Kapichi do best – make a real connection in the here and now, running the gamut of love, loss and what it means to be alive in Britain today.

“I know it’s a cliche, but this really is our best work ever. We put everything into this record, but actively decided not to stray too far from the path of ‘Here’s What You Could Have Won’, as we felt there was still more ground to be covered and honed on that vibe,” says Jack.  “Lyrically and musically, it’s more concise, meaningful and deliberate, which ties everything together really well; it feels like a collection of songs from the same family.”

When speaking of the tour, Kid Kapichi said, “We are and always have been a live band. It’s exciting to release new singles, new albums and new videos, but for us, it’s always a way just to get out there and play bigger and better shows. That’s why we started playing music and it’s why we continue to do so. To be announcing our biggest headline tour of our careers to date is amazing. Playing venues like Kentish Town Forum has always been an ambition, and the fact we have the incredible fanbase that we do to make all this possible is a dream come true.”

Having gained an ardent cult following with their 2021 debut This Time Next Year’ and the rollicking 2022 follow-up Here’s What You Could Have Won’, Kid Kapichi returned this year with yet another slew of instant hits with Let’s Get To WorkTamagotchi and 999, which follow in the footsteps of previous anthems, New EnglandI.N.V.USmash The Gaff,  Rob The Supermarket and 5 Days On (2 Days Off), solidifying their position as one of the UK’s most exciting bands.
