The heavy metal ’n‘ roll, dark, madcap visionaries collectively known as AVATAR — vocalist Johannes Eckerström, guitarists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström, bassist Henrik Sandelin, and drummer John Alfredsson — are coming back to Europe with The Great Metal Circus.
About the upcoming European tour, lead singer Johannes Eckerström says, “Every tour comes with great anticipation. We wouldn’t belong in this scene if we weren’t thrilled each and every time. That being said, I might just be a bit extra over the moon this time. Returning to the roads of Europe this past year was a very long time in the making, and it was the biggest thing we’ve ever done on our home continent. Now we get to fill in a whole lot of blanks we’ve been longing to visit for a long time. We will make this count in a way that we may never have done before. Anything you’ve seen of us to this date is, as always, just the beginning. We can’t wait to see you, and that makes this the must-see European tour of 2024. Pinky promise!”
The Great Metal Circus headline tour kicks off on January 26, 2024 with a whopping 35 shows. Among the shows are six shows in their home country of Sweden, and eleven shows in France! The tour is also stopping in Germany, Finland, Poland, and more.
Pre-sale tickets for their exclusive Avatar Country fan club will go on sale Wednesday, 27 September and general tickets will go on sale on Friday, 29 September.

AVATAR’s 2023 “Dance Devil Dance Tour” in Europe amassed 9 sold out shows including the famous L’Olympia in Paris. With the tour being the biggest headline of the band’s career, the band solidified themselves as a European mainstay.
The Great Metal Circus Tour announcement comes after AVATAR achieved their first #1 single in the US for „The Dirt I’m Buried In“ from their magnum opus and ninth album, Dance Devil Dance. The track surged itself to #1 on Mediabase’s Active Rock Chart. On Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart, the single rises to #1 on its 31st week, making it the longest trek to #1 in 20 years!
Prior to their EU headline tour, Avatar is currently touring the US on their headline Chimp Mosh Pit Tour. The band is also direct support for the US Ice Nine Kills and In This Moment “Kiss of Death Tour” this upcoming November and December.
